PATH Education Institute

In 1990, PATH centralized and organized its agency education functions with the establishment of the PATH Foster Care Education Institute. The Institute researches, plans and implements PATH’s internal education programs designed for PATH foster parents and social workers.

The mission of the PATH Education Institute is to create the highest quality professional foster care through education.

The Institute works to:

• Improve the quality of foster parent-social worker education

• Establish qualifications recognized by the foster care community and the public for professional foster parent and social worker education

• Position and recognize foster parents as professionals in a highly specialized career

• Offer foster care education that is professional, practical, conveniently located and affordable

• Promote education services to youth in care, families of origin and natural parents of children with special needs
