“I am doing things I never dreamed I could do.”

Tyrese was placed in the Lorraine and Timothy Childs home on October 13, 1995. He was ten-years-old and the youngest of a sibling group of four. On June 10, 2003, Tyrese graduated from Wayzata High School where he excelled and lettered in wrestling and football.

He is a polite, social and proud young man, and one can feel a sense of self pride when Tyrese talks about his accomplishments while living with the Childs. Tyrese started working when he was 14 and most recently worked at Wireless Dimension at Ridgedale Mall until he left for college on August 15 2003. He will be attending Junior College in Tallahassee, Florida, living on campus with his sister Ebony. Both Lorraine and Timothy’s parents live in Tallahassee and will be a support system to Tyrese and Ebony.

In talking about the time spent living with the Childs’ family, he stated, “I am doing things I never dreamed I could do.” He has traveled extensively throughout the United States, graduated from one of the finest high schools in the Metro area, excelled in wrestling and football, took a drama class, played the tuba and is active in the Church of God in Christ.

The Childs have provided Tyrese with a solid foundation which will enable him to grow and mature into a successful member of the community. He gives a lot of credit to Lorraine and Timothy for their love, encouragement, work ethic and guidance. He appreciates them always being there for him when he needed support. Tyrese and Ebony will both continue to spend summer vacations and holidays with the Childs family.
